Sampling of transformer oil from transformer

We offer all transformer operators the possibility of taking an oil sample by our trained staff and subsequent analysis of the oil in our laboratory.

We carry out tests for transformer oil:

• determination of breakdown voltage (electric strength)
• determination of water content in insulating oil
• determination of the dielectric loss factor tg delta (impurity content)
• determination of acidity number
• resistivity measurement
• interfacial tension measurement
• kinematic viscosity measurement

Insulating oil is tested on Baur DTA, Baur DTL and other special devices.
The result of the analysis is a report on the tests carried out with the stamp of an authorized testing agency. According to the result of the oil analysis, a further decision can be made about the need for a revision of the transformer associated with the modification of the oil filling.

We recommend oil analysis for transformers with conservator every 5 years of operation, for hermetic transformers after the first 15 years of operation and every 5-10 years thereafter.
In the attached table, you can find the minimum and recommended values ​​of individual oil parameters that should be met by each distribution transformer or its oil filling.
