Renewed transformers
Trafo CZ, a.s. benefits from its rich experience and technological background in repair activities and, in addition to new transformers, it also offers its customers cost-effective refurbished transformers, which are technically sufficient for a large part of installations.
A renewed transformer is a used machine that is offered for sale after a complete overhaul. This includes in particular:
- cleaning of winding and core, removal of deposits and dirt
- drying windings and cores in a drying oven
- check or replace bushings
- check or replace the tap
- replacement of all sealing elements
- new oil filling
- surface treatment - cleaning, new paint
- testing to the same extent as a new machine
- oil analysis
A transformer repaired in this way can continue to operate for at least 10 years. The manufacturer provides a 12-month warranty. We know from practice that the percentage of complaints or even post-warranty repairs on refurbished transformers is small.
We will offer you a price for a refurbished transformer after your telephone or e-mail inquiry - just fill out the "request" form. As a guide, the price is approximately half that of a new transformer. All renewed transformers offered by our company have been repaired in our facilities and immediately before their sale! The quality of such a machine can be diametrically different from others, which are also commonly offered on the market as "refurbished".
However, it is necessary to distinguish between new and old machines - a renewed one will always be technically "worse"(usually higher losses, noise, failure rate, maintenance requirements, shorter service life) than a new machine. When purchasing, we therefore recommend carefully considering the perspective with which we are purchasing a transformer and what is more advantageous for us.
