Low-losses transformers for photovoltaic power plants

With regard to the state-subsidized purchase price of electricity, the assessment of losses arising during the production of electricity and its supply to the network is significantly different than for transformers serving in the distribution network.
Transformers for solar plants - no load losses, load losses
For a rough idea of the significance of the losses in a nutshell, we present the following calculation, which approximates the real situation:
- Installed power: 1,000 kW
- Real peak power: 950 kW
- Real long-term delivered power: 400 kW
Transformer: TRAFOCZ TDQ series, 1,000 kVA, 22/0.42 kV
Option 1 - standard losses:
- p0 = 1.100 W ... no load losses
- pk = 11.600 W ... load losses
This corresponds to losses for one year of operation of 15,204 kWh, which at a purchase price of CZK 12 / 1 kWh represents CZK 182,448 / year
Option 2 - losses reduced by 20%:
- p0 = 880 W
- pk = 9.280 W
This corresponds to losses for one year of operation of 12,163 kWh, which at a purchase price of CZK 12 / 1 kWh represents CZK 145,958 / year
Annual savings amount to CZK 36,490. The increase in the price of the transformer in this case is only CZK 60-80,000, and the investment in a low-loss transformer is thus recouped within 3 years of commissioning.
Trafo CZ, a.s. offers transformers for solar power plants with low and ultra-low losses exactly according to customer requirements. On request, part of our delivery includes a price calculation of losses and its comparison with the purchase price of the transformer.
Another option is the delivery of a complete electrical part on a turnkey basis, which includes a concrete kiosk station, HV and LV switchboard, transformer, cabling and control elements. All certificates and attestations for both the station and the transformer itself are a matter of course. To prepare an offer for the supply of a turnkey transformer station, it is enough to supply the required single-pole diagram of the station, you will receive the offer within a few days.
